Extended Borris Lodge Nursing Home Opens for Business
The recently completed 30 bedroom extension of Borris Lodge Nursing Home was project managed by R Crosbie and Associates from inception to completion.
Our role was to assist the owner occupier with:
- the survey of the existing premises
- the design of the new extension
- obtaining all statutory approvals
- the project management of the construction works
- obtaining grant aid under the SEI Re-Heat programme
The new extension complies with the guidelines outlined in the Draft National Quality Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in particular Standards 25 and 26 set out in Section 6 – The Care Environment, of the new draft standards.
A new sustainable heating installation formed a key part of the design and we understand that even though the completed nursing home is twice the size of the original, the heating bill has not changed!
